New Technology to Double Memory Card Capacities
Reuters is reporting that Samsung Electronics is planning to produce a new memory chip that will double the storage capacity of digital cameras. It is expected that Samsung, which holds a 60% share of the NAND flash memory market, will launch a 16-gigabit chip in late 2006.
NAND flash memory chips are built into memory cards or USB memory products. Could we be seeing 8 gigabyte and larger USB memory keychains next year?
