Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z700
A new 7.2 megapixel digital camera from Casio in the Exilim Zoom EX-Z700. It comes with a 3x optical zoom, and a super bright 2.7 inch LCD display which is said to be very easy to see, even on a sunny day. It uses a battery pack, whcih needs to be recharged, but is rated at around 460 pictures on a single charge. The camera also comes with Casio’s Anti Shake DSP, to reduce blur effects due to a less than steady hand or moving subjects.
It looks like it could be a nice pocket camera to have, though I am not thrilled with its very average optical zoom and lack of optical viewfinder. I look forward to reading reviews on it.

I own a similar Casio Ex-Z600 6.0 mpixel and I am Very Happy with the ease of use ,extra compact physical size , fast menu choices , comfort in hand feel and simple picture extraction . For me , this unit offers a ton of features that are simple to access and use , giving great looking pics every time . It even corrects “cockpit errors” that I make . It automaticaly changes to the correct shooting mode even though I have set the wrong mode for the scene I’m tryiny to capture . (A miracle of sorts ) I am using an Ultra II ; 1.0 gb , SD Card ,also available with the USB factor builtin the card itself . In my estimation , the faster speed of this type of SD Cards is almost mandatory for my performance satisfaction . I also own a Dimage X-! with the same Card and I am going to buy the 10 mpix HP967 when it comes out , maybe in September 2006 . I am satisfied with this type of digital camera and the lack of a ViewFinder not a problem for me . So all you “SnapHappies” out there , point and shoot away . Then post ‘em for us all to see
